May Edition-Favorite Spots for a Beyond Mom Life!

Life is an adventure and let’s treat it as that! Below are last month’s Beyond Mom’s favorite spots in Manhattan, Queens, Saratoga Springs and Richmond, VA. We know you’re always on the look out for fabulous places to brunch, have a glass of wine, sweat or just to discover something new. If you haven’t been before or if you need a reminder, add these to your “must enjoy” list…and yes this is a to-do list you deserve to have.

Favorites Saratoga Springs Restaurants:

Henry Street Taproom has great craft brews, food, and ambiance, The Mouzon House for delicious al fresco farm-to-table fare, 15 Church for a special dinner and Sweet Mimi’s for brunch. The Iron Roost just south of Saratoga in Ballston Spa is a great brunch spot, too!”

Best locations for a blissful outdoor workout:

“One of the best things about living outside of the city (NYC) is access to the outdoors – running in Saratoga Spa State Park, hiking in the Adirondacks, and waterskiing on Lake George.”

For facials and special pampering time:

Khadija heads over to Dr. Khadija Hayari (mom of one), who is the owner of Naturopathic Spa in Astoria, Queens.

For a powerful sweat hour:

“I love taking a fitness class called InnerWarrior taught by Nadia Zaki (a mom of two) at Equinox fitness club in New York City.”

Best Spots for Visitors:

“For restaurants, Rappahannock, Heritage, Belmont Food Shop and Rowlands. There are also two wonderful hotels in town, one old, established and grand. The other new, boutique-style and fun.  The grand Jefferson Hotel and the fun Quirk. Both boast great restaurants and bars.”

Gorgeous spots for a scenic walk:

“There are wonderful areas all around Richmond for walks – Canal Walk, along the James River (with class IV rapids right in the heart the city), around the state capitol (designed by Thomas Jefferson). In Church Hill with a stop at St. John’s Episcopal, where Patrick Henry delivered his famous “give me liberty or give me death” speech.

Sophia loves healthy and clean restaurants such as:

Liquiteria, and Blossom. For a quick takeaway meal, I stop by Hu Kitchen and pick up their organic roasted chicken.”

Beyond Yoga Workout:

“My favorite studios are Jivamukti and Yoga Vida in NYC.”
