Lynette Barbieri seeks to live in a world where everyone can pursue their dreams. With a passion for helping women succeed, Lynette is a sought after financial & business advisor and the co-founder of the Entrepreneurial Think Tank for Women (ETTW). The group’s mission is to connect like minded women to network with intention, build relationships, learn from and support each other. When Lynette isn’t in her office or presenting workshops or offering mentoring sessions she can be found with her 4 children in New Jersey. You can connect with Beyond Moms, Lynette and her business partner Vanessa Coppes at their annual “Power Of Connections 2015” conference this November! This year, we are thrilled that Randi will be one of the featured speakers- get your tickets today!
1. What makes you a Beyond Mom?
My ability to raise my four children, run my business, build a secondary business and live life on my own terms. People talk about balance, I talk about integration. There really is no balance, just living your life all together as one entity and making it work. In our women’s group, ETTWomen, we call it living the 360 lifestyle. I just show up as Lynette Barbieri, the mom, daughter, business owner, business partner, and make it work the best as I can.
2. What are the parts of you that have grown and expanded since becoming a Mom?
Since becoming a mom I have expanded my beliefs. I push myself harder to learn new things all the time, do things that make me uncomfortable or make me fearful in order to get better. All the decisions I make are based on showing them anything is possible and you can reinvent yourself whenever you want to. Having children forces you in a good way to learn how to be comfortable in your own skin so you can help them to do the same.
3) Can you share a collaboration/success story with another woman; what helped the collaboration become successful?
I have collaborated with a few great women over the years that have helped me in many ways, but my most recent collaboration has been with my business partner, AKA work wife, Vanessa Coppes. We met in 2012, we both believe everything happens for a reason and that’s why we were brought together. Although we are very different people we were drawn together by our similar passion values and goals. To help other women live their 360 lifestye. We created The Entrepreneurial Think Tank For Women which we run in Northern and Central New Jersey and virtually. We hope to expand in NYC someday. Vanessa certainly keeps me on my toes and pushes me into the uncomfortable zone almost daily. We don’t always agree on how to do things but we always agree on why we are doing it. We are actually loving what we do with our ladies presently and love to connect and have a blast while we do it!
4) What relationships help you stay connected to yourself?
My husband, kids and friends help me to stay grounded. They don’t care who you meet, what you get recognized for, or what you do, they just want you as you are and want you to be you!
5. Do you have a ‘Beyond’ dream that you are pursuing? If so, please share…
My Beyond Mom dream right now is to open multiple successful chapters of ETTWomen so we can help as many women as possible. Also to help more women become financially literate so they can be be confident and empowered to take care of themselves.
6) What wellness activity can you not live without? What is one thing you do daily that balances you?
I cannot live without walking by the ocean, or at least out in nature where it is quiet and peaceful. It keeps me sane.
7. How does style influence the way you stay feeling ‘Beyond’? Who is currently your favorite designer?
To feel Beyond I need to feel confident. To feel confident I need to dress nice but comfortable. I am totally comfort driven. I love a great bargain, even consignment shops. I never had an interest to be a fashion guru and I can’t say I have one favorite designer. I wear clothes from The Gap, Banana Republic, The Limited, New York & Co, Calvin Klein, and Black House White Market.
Favorite NYC Spots that Embody The Beyond Mom
Beyond Cocktails and/or Food:
For cocktail’s and food I love to go up and down 8th and 9th ave from 57th street to Times Square. I stop in all different types of places for happy hour and appetizers and to meet new people. 10th ave Hell’s kitchen is awesome too! I love to try food of every ethnicity, I am a true foodie.
When I am in NJ I turn to walking and exercising by the beach. When I am in NYC it is walking in Central Park!
My favorite store when I spend the weekend in NYC is TJ Maxx on 57th between 8th & 9th ave. Three floors of bargains!
I am inspired the most by our ETTWomen. I am in awe of how they put themselves out there on a daily basis in order to grow and change. It inspires me to better myself all the time so I can continue to help them get to where they need to be. I can’t explain the feeling of how humbling it is when someone puts their faith in you and lets them lead you. Nothing inspires me more!
