“Women are speaking up and getting what they need in order to be the best at work and at home. I also think the need for perfection is starting to dwindle a bit. With social media documenting real life, and wonderful resources such as Beyond Mom, I think we can all see it’s not always wrapped up in a pretty little bow.”– Keri Feeney
What makes you a Beyond Mom?
After having my son, and moving our family from NYC to Florida, my goals were shifted and priorities changed. Having had a steadfast career in Jewelry and Apparel, it was time for a fresh start all around. I teamed up with my best childhood friend, Alicia, who was running her Interior Design company solo and from her home. We started writing a business plan, working from the floor in her playroom, and putting out into the universe what our ultimate goal was – to have our own business combining her amazing design talents, and my business and retail knowledge, all where we could grow and keep our little humans at the center of our worlds. Our prayers worked, because not long after, we teamed up with our third partner, Angelika, to complete the Alicia Weaver Design team, and now, we have our own studio. We are all working hard to grow our business, and first and foremost, be present as mothers. The juggle has proven to be challenging, but we know through our hard work, we are teaching our children that women really can have and do it all!!
What are the parts of you that have grown and expanded since becoming a mom?
My patience and genuine desire to want to be present for my son. His development is so amazing to watch, and I want to make sure I don’t take a second for granted. It’s a tough pursuit when juggling a business, social media, and family, but it is always in the forefront of my mind.
Do you have a Beyond dream that you are pursing?
Yes, it’s happening! My dream of owning my own business, being my own boss, and partnering with like-minded mothers who have the same goals as I do, is a dream coming true. Being able to grow in my career and be passionate about what I do on a daily basis in front of my son is the cherry on top.
What relationships and activities help you stay connected to yourself?
My husband is my ultimate partner, and we cherish the weekends with our son. My business partner just so happens to be my best childhood friend, so our work environment is like hanging with family. I am always chatting with my immediate family as well, even though they are not close in proximity, they are always close to my heart and keep me sane.
Do you have a favorite quote or mantra that you live by?
“It’s not what you look at that matters, but what you see.” – Henry David Thoreau
What causes and topics are you most passionate about right now?
Reuniting detained immigrant children with their parents.
How do you think we can change our culture from one in which a woman is expected to be a “perfect mother” to one in which she is encouraged to discover and explore her evolving self?
I think it is already changing. Women are speaking up and getting what they need in order to be the best at work and at home. I also think the need for perfection is starting to dwindle a bit. With social media documenting real life, and wonderful resources such as Beyond Mom, I think we can all see it’s not always wrapped up in a pretty little bow. I would encourage mothers to keep talking and sharing so we can all support this amazing tribe we are all a part of.

Right now I am listening to the Business of Design podcast. Usually have it pumping while getting ready for work to get my day started.
I am usually getting packages from Revolve.com or hitting Neiman Marcus 😊
When I was living in NYC, I was a religious follower of Anna Kaiser at AKT on the Upper East Side. I was there daily, and just loved every second I got to sweat it out in the studio. Now, in South Florida, I love the Yoga Joint. They offer hot yoga to great music among other classes, and love Cycleward because they have amazing childcare while you ride!
