Preschool Monday Means Shopping Today!

  • This morning I’m blogging
  • This afternoon I’m shopping
  • This evening? Who knows. Relaxing…business planning…writing….there are a lot of options.

Let’s stick with this afternoon and the fun shopping portion of the program.

I love shopping for my kids, my husband, and my friends. Not so much for myself. Going through all the little racks of kid clothing makes me all tingly (not that kind of tingly) and I can understand why my mom really enjoyed back-to-school shopping when I was a kid.

One of the reasons I am going to enjoy it so much is that most, if not all, of the shopping will be done in one store using one gift card. My goal is to get three full outfits for each girl plus bonus outfits for less than $83.00 at Kohls. If stuff is on sale, I can do it. Their outfits are usually two to three times what I’m willing to spend on an outfit they’ll spill something on within five hours of wearing it for the first time.

But if stuff is on sale, it is possible I could get outfits for less than $10ea. and that would thrill my frugal bones!

In other news, Abby turned 3 yesterday! It was only her official birthday and I didn’t tell her about it, because I am making a cake next weekend for the girls and celebrating both of their birthdays on the same day. Until they are old enough to know they weren’t born on the same day, this is my way of being frugal while still giving my children a reason and a day to celebrate.

The same day.

They have a whole lifetime to have different birthdays with separate celebrations – why rush it?
