Preschool Continues to Elude Me
The Montessori school I called finally called me back Monday (a month later) and was not prepared to talk price. I said, “The cost is our determining factor since my husband was laid off.” He said he understood and would call me back in the morning. When he did call back in the morning Randy answered (bless their lucky stars) and took down the numbers.
Even though they’d been talking discount all this time, the numbers he gave randy are full price, pro-rated. This means the man either thinks I’m going to call and say I can’t afford it and THEN he’ll bring the price down…or he thinks I can’t add, subtract, and multiply.
Either way I’ll pass, thanks. They are the ones who brought the concept of a discounted rate to the table. Maybe they changed their mind. But, you know what, I didn’t move to a great school district almost six years ago so I would have to send the kids to a private school.
But if you’re thinking this is the love-filled post about how I got great information on our public preschool…think again.
I called yesterday and talked to the receptionist who had some vague information and told me there was a payment plan but I had to talk to the director. Who was out. So I left a voicemail.
If you know me, you know I leave…um…special voicemail messages. I don’t know how to talk to a machine that is hooked up to a stranger’s ear. It’s basically my kryptonite.
Maybe that’s why she never called back.
So I have to call again today to see what’s up and how soon I can start taking my kids to preschool. Because they need a few hours (2.75hrs. for Abby and 3hrs. for Sadie) learning and playing with other kids.
My kids will end up in preschool….Right?!

Got something to say?

My brother puts my nieces/nephews in Montessori.
To be honest, they don’t seem to learn much… he learns more at home puttering around than at school. Although, learning how to garden at 2 years old is pretty interesting for them.
*shrug*.. Like very expensive baby sitters….
