Me, too - but I was also really worried that her husband was too much baggage and maybe so much that it would cost the election. The Biden thing hasn't sunk in yet but they will still get my vote even if McCain does choose a woman (which I don't think he will now that Obama hasn't).

Thanks? for the mention ;) Anyway, both my husband and I were disappointed not to have Hillary on the ticket. I also would have liked to maybe have seen someone other than Biden. I know WHY the Obama campaign went with him, but I don't really have to like it. But now it's either Obama or a 3rd Bush term. *sigh* Although if the McCain that ran in 2000 was the McCain that is running now, I might have had a tougher time making the decisions....

I'm going to chime right on in- I could have written this!

Although, I think I'm going to be voting for someone I know isn't going to win but I just can't stomach giving my vote to either of the front runners. How about a independent candidate?!

Now that would be a change wouldn't it!

I'm still hoping Hillary changes her mind and agrees to be a write in. I wanted Hillary as well. Obama just doesn't have what it takes. He's like the little new kid in school searching for approval from anyone.

But Obama's VP choice just did him in- He's lost my vote as well as thousands if not millions more!

Hi Ray - You know what? That's a really well put comment. Seriously.

I think I, like many people, forgot about the Green Party for a minute. Oh wait, I didn't forget...I thought Nader was running again and man, I am done with Nader. That guy needs to stop running for President already.

A dual-female team? Under the green party? That's bold. I'm still of the mind you need a penis somewhere on the ticket to get into the White House. But if nothing else, even if the Green Party doesn't get elected, I could see placing my vote there so they get more funding next go-round.

An independent vote is NOT a wasted vote - even if they don't win they get more funding and that's another baby step to the White House.

Thank you for your comment Roy, it gave me a lot to think about. I'm going to research the Green Party duo now.

I'm a middle-aged white male and I'm going to vote for the Green Party ticket of Cynthia McKinney and Rosa Clemente. I'm thrilled they are women of color but that's a bonus reason to vote for them. My chief reasons are practical: McKinney is pro-worker, pro-family' anti-war, dedicated to fostering real social and economic justice to name a few of her platform declarations. Ideals the old New Deal Democrats used to advocate!
Obama's choice of the the lifelong D.C. insider-safe-for-big-business-Biden chapped me enough to give up the lunacy of hope that Obama's going to miraculously reverse himself and morph into be a progressive candidate after being elected.
Thanks Biden, for steering me to the candidate who is dedicated to the ideals America professes to cherish and stand for.

@Candy Thanks for the link!

@Everyone - wow. I was so scared there would be flaming for this one. But you are all AWESOME.

@Willow - The only other person I know that liberal is my great-grandmother (who raised me) are you, like, socialist? I'm going over to check your blog out now, hopefully you write about politics now and then because I'd like to hear that ultra-liberal perspective from someone under 90 :)

Ultimately I'm a flip-flopper. I'm one of the Americans that doesn't self label Democrat or Republican. There are a lot of us out there. Most people probably assume I'm a Democrat because I'm a mom blogger and hang out online and a vast majority of the online bloggers I've found are liberal/Democrat and I can see where they are coming from.

I also have a friend who blogs and is very conservative/Republican. She has a McCain sign in her yard (I'm too much of a coward for signs my friends) and people stopped talking to her over it. I can't imagine.

So thanks again for posting, and if I go political in the future please if you think I'm wrong, I promise, it's worth taking the extra time to tell me why you think so. I'll listen.

I was hoping for Hillary, but she comes with a lot of baggage, a LOT of baggage. So, I knew it was a long shot. I actually agree with nearly everything she does (think about liberal now go far left of that and you'll understand where I sit). I still had a sliver of hope, but I knew. Just knew. It wasn't going to happen. I will not. EVER. Vote for McCain. Just for what he did to his wife (far worse than what Bill did to Hillary IMHO) - talk about lack of morals and human decency. No way.

Having said all that. I like Biden. He's a little more conservative than I like my liberals, but he'll bring balance. I like that he doesn't agree with Obama on everything, and I think that's ultimately why Obama chose him. I also find it interesting that Biden was not an Obama supporter in the beginning - to me that means he brings something interesting to politics, which can be boring.

I have no idea who to vote for. Seriously. It will be interesting to see who McCain chooses and how things shake out as it gets closer.

Good post. I don't necessarily agree with all of it but you brought out a couple of points that I hadn't thought of yet. But, hey, I live in Florida so my vote doesn't count anyway! (only halfway teasing there)
