Personal Branding (for the love of blogging)
So the decision to start a blog that’s branded differently from my website is entirely thought-through and strategic.
No, really!
(You! In the back row! Stop snickering!)
I have two businesses with entirely different branding. One focuses on virtual clients and one focuses on local clientelle. (The in person kind.)
Then I started an entirely personal blog.
So I have three blogs, all very specific and focused and niched.
The problem started when I had personal things I wanted to talk about and they turned into marketing posts. Or if I had something about marketing I wanted to talk about and it turned into a virtual contracting post toward the end.
It’s even more complicated because even though I haven’t really been doing Virtual Assistant work, I am a sales rep for a VA staffing firm. A staffing firm with a completely different business name than mine. Where do posts about the trials and tribulations about that go? Wherever I put them it will dilute the branding of that particular blog.
So walah! We have the Beyond Mom Blog. This, I think, will allow me to post more often, about things I want to post about. In turn this should strengthen my personal branding by letting anyone reading know what I’m interested in and see more of my strengths than if they only saw posts about marketing or sales or the kids or any other ONE thing.
Do you have an online business with a blog? If so, what are you doing for your personal branding? Do you think it’s insane to have multiple blogs or does it help you focus?
I’d love to hear what other women are doing to make everything in life and business make sense!
If nothing else, this is all about streamlining, and I’m going into 2008 streamlined, baby!
Now pass me a martini, because I’m exhausted from coding and uploading and tweaking and matching colors (I’m so bad at matching colors!)
